The Express Entry immigration system offers many programs that make the process to immigrate to Canada easy for anyone to apply. The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) simplifies the immigration process for skilled workers and is one of the best ways to immigrate to the Great White North, hassle-free.

In 2021, the Express Entry system planned to welcome 108,500 Canadian immigrants. Following this, the Canadian government expects to welcome even more people to immigrate to Canada in 2022 and beyond. When you apply to an Express Entry program, like the FSWP, you can live and work as a permanent resident in Canada in as little as six to eight months.

The Federal Skilled Worker Visa is perfect for anyone that has skills, work experience, and qualifications that can contribute to the ongoing growth of the Canadian economy. To do this, you must meet the minimum visa requirements in a profession, whether it be in a professional, managerial, trade, or technical role.

With the submission of your application, your profile will be selected from a pool of candidates that ranks in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). If you meet the requirements to move to Canada, you will obtain a high score compared to other applicants, which can secure an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.

Gain Permanent Residency as a Skilled Worker

Canada requires more skilled workers over time because there are large numbers of existing residents that are retiring each year. Apart from growing the economy, the country also needs to fill jobs that are left empty. Since the demand for skilled workers is so high, it is easier to move to Canada than most people may think, but only by meeting specific requirements that must be met to get there. It is much easier for someone who is a skilled worker or professional to gain permanent residency in Canada because they can find work more easily.

As one of the best countries to live in globally, Canada also understands the need for skilled immigrants to innovate and start companies to create jobs for current and future residents. With so much opportunity at hand due to the political, social, and economic stability, the country is one of the best places to start a business or work in the job of your dreams.

Canada is targeting well-educated and self-motivated professionals to contribute to the ongoing growth of the economy to not only become stronger than ever before but also to lend a helping hand to people that feel like they may not have the best future in the country they currently live in.

Working in Canada Made Easy

As the number one country that has vaccinated most of its residents in the world, at the rate that Canada is recovering from the pandemic, more jobs are becoming available for immigrants to fill. To strengthen the economy after the worst of the pandemic, Canada is relying on immigration to get its economy right on track and welcome more than 1.2 million people by 2023. This is an initiative that forms a part of their economic recovery plan.

Some of the biggest industries in Canada that require skilled workers include:

  • Technology and IT
  • News and Publishing
  • Engineering and Architecture
  • Healthcare
  • Commercial Banking and Finance
  • Marketing and Sales
  • Sustainable Energy

To qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, you don't need a job offer, yet having one can increase your chances of getting your Canadian visa faster. If you have experience in a particular field, such as one of those mentioned above or any other, and you have the necessary skills, you can get a job in a high-level position, live in Canada while being self-employed as an entrepreneur, or even start a business. By simply having a job offer, you can earn up to 200 additional CRS points, while other skilled workers with job offers could earn 50 additional CRS points.

Once you've received the invitation, you will have 60 days to submit your complete application form with supporting documents. With the submission of your complete application, the IRCC will be notified, upon which you will receive Acknowledgement of Receipts (AOR) from the IRCC. Your application will then be reviewed one last time before you are determined eligible for permanent residency in Canada.

4. Provide Proof of a Medical Examination and Security Check

The last step to qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program to move to and work in Canada is to get a standard physical exam, blood and urine tests, and X-Rays, all of which will determine whether you are in good health to ensure that you will not pose a risk to other people in Canada. Additionally, you will also have to undergo a security screening to prove that you have a clean criminal record in your home country, and if you have lived in more than one country, every other one too.
